Saba (NASDAQ:SABA), the premier people management software and services provider, today announced the latest release of its content creation and publishing tool—Saba Publisher 9.0. Available now, Saba Publisher provides content authors with new features that enable rapid content creation and extend the reach of media-rich content to mobile devices—including animated and interactive capabilities, expanded language support, and features to enable publishing to the iPhone and iPod Touch. By making it easy for organizations to create, publish, and reuse content, Saba Publisher can help accelerate content delivery time and enhance the value of e-learning across an organization.
“Effective content creation and integration are critical to expanding access to e-learning anywhere, anytime across an extended enterprise,” said A.G. Lambert, vice president of marketing for Saba. “We are pleased to put this powerful authoring tool—with enhanced content and capabilities for mobile learners—into the hands of subject matter experts and learning professionals to make interactive learning content, quizzes, assessments, and software simulations more effective and impactful in delivering business results.”
Saba Publisher provides organizations with an easy way to author and publish professional content that enhances the e-learning experience—including e-learning courses, presentations, assessments, quizzes, and surveys. With Saba Publisher, both novice and expert-level authors can quickly create professionally designed and media-rich content using easy-to-use, drag-and-drop features to incorporate existing text, media, and graphics files. Through a tight integration with Saba Content Management, Saba’s learning content management system (LCMS), Saba Publisher makes it easy to share content and allow content authors to work together on development projects, and content authors can reuse templates and learning objects easily through access to a shared resource library. With Saba Publisher, users can also harness the power of community-published recordings from Saba Centra, Saba’s Web conferencing and virtual classroom product. By using Saba Publisher and Saba Centra together, courseware developers can tap into the knowledge of the community to create the most up-to-date, relevant content possible.
New in Saba Publisher 9.0:
Publish to iPhone and iPod Touch—Addresses the content needs of the emerging mobile learning market by making it possible to publish courses to iPhone and iPod Touch. Organizations can extend the reach of content to their employees on the go.

Enhanced interactive components for high-impact course development—New features—including an expanded Flash and games library with animated male and female characters; foot race, jigsaw puzzle, matching pairs and tic tac toe games; and other components, like photo viewers, card flips and arrow highlights—enable content developers to quickly customize and deploy visually impactful training and reduce the need for custom content.
Enhanced video capabilities—New features—including an enhanced media open dialog box for previewing audio or video before adding it to a title; the ability to stream YouTube videos directly in Saba Publisher titles; a skinnable Flash player; and browser-based AJAX windows—enable content developers to offer optimal visual experiences for learners.
